II. Our 2 day itinerary in Cu Lao Cham

1. Day 1: Hoi An – Cu Lao Cham Island

The first day of our 2 day itinerary to Cu Lao Cham was simply magical. From the moment we were picked up at the Cua Dai tourist port, we felt the excitement of the adventure ahead. Onboard the speedboat, the fresh air and coastal scenery left us in awe.

Upon arriving on the island, the visit to the ancient Hai Tang Pagoda immediately brought a sense of serenity and spiritual connection. Learning about the fishermen’s boat, used during storms, gave us deep respect for their courage and bond with the sea.

Next, we took a boat to explore the northern tourist area of the island, where crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches offered a true haven of peace. What to do in Cham islands? One highlight was snorkeling at Cua Ong Beach, surrounded by colorful fish and vibrant coral. It was an unforgettable experience.

2 days in Cu Lao Cham, in the afternoon, participating in water activities and fishing guided by local fishermen was a real pleasure. The fishermen shared ancestral techniques, using nets and traditional methods passed down for generations. Casting our own net added an even more fascinating dimension to the experience.

2. Day 2: Cu Lao Cham Island – Hoi An

The next morning, during our 2 day trip in Cham islands, waking up to the sound of the waves was perfect. We started the day with a bit of exercise and a refreshing swim in the calm sea—a truly invigorating experience. Breakfast, enjoyed in a serene and natural setting, allowed us to fully embrace the island's soothing atmosphere. Afterward, we had some free time to relax or explore the lesser-known corners of the island, which gave us a deeper appreciation of the local charm.

The time to leave came quickly, but we weren’t ready to part with this paradise. The speedboat ride back to Cua Dai was tinged with nostalgia, but the promise of returning one day to this wonderful place brought us comfort. Upon arriving at the port, a driver took us back to Hoi An, and though our 48 hours in Cham islands had come to an end, we know these memories will stay in our hearts forever.

III. Reviews from other tourists about Cu Lao Cham trip

After our incredible 2 day trip in Cham islands, we had the chance to talk with other tourists, and their feedback about the experience was equally enthusiastic. Many highlighted the islands’ unspoiled beauty and the exceptional quality of services provided, including guided tours and water activities. Some even mentioned choosing Cu Lao Cham specifically for its peaceful atmosphere, far from the crowds of Hoi An. You can also refer to some reviews left by other travelers who share their experiences.

Irene J, one of our friends, also visited Cham islands and shared her experience with us:

"Beautiful island, we spent two nights at Monkey Homestay, and it was fantastic. They picked us up at the port. No one asked us for money when we got off the boat, as mentioned in another review. We rented a scooter to explore the sights—lots of hills, but the views were incredible. We found a beach about 5 minutes away by motorbike or 25 minutes on foot, absolutely stunning. In the evening, there wasn’t much to do, so we joined the locals for karaoke, which was amazing. It was so much fun. It’s an island, and AT NO POINT were we ever asked for money for anything during our two-night stay. Boat tickets, homestay accommodation, meals, drinks, scooter rental—all of it cost just £120.

We’re seasoned travelers, and it was so refreshing to meet people from Australia, France, the Netherlands, and Germany. We had a wonderful time—don’t hesitate to come and stay!"

I also read a review from a client who chose Autour Asia for their recent trip to Cu Lao Cham:

"The start was a bit hectic, but it was absolutely worth it. The ocean was gorgeous, and we had plenty of time to enjoy snorkeling. There weren’t many fish, but it was still an incredible experience. The food provided during the excursion was delicious! The island’s beach was beautiful and peaceful."

Overall, the reviews from other tourists about their 2 days in Cu Lao Cham highlight the islands’ preserved natural beauty and the authentic experiences it offers. Whether it’s the tranquility of the beaches or the friendliness of the locals, everyone leaves with memorable experiences from this unique getaway.

Where to stay on the Cham islands?

If you're planning a 2 day trip to Cu Lao Cham, the most popular and authentic accommodation option on the island is staying in local homestays. These accommodations are often managed by island residents, offering a full immersion into the local culture. By staying in a homestay, you can enjoy simple but comfortable rooms, often with beautiful views of the sea or surrounding nature. Many of these homestays also organize activities such as boat tours, hiking trips, and traditional meals, adding to the authenticity of your experience. If you're following a 2 day itinerary in Cu Lao Cham, it’s advisable to book your accommodation in advance, as the island remains relatively quiet and lodging options can be limited, especially during the high season.
