Are there any common mistakes to avoid when cooking Vietnamese hot pot?
Cooking lau vietnam, one common mistake is overcrowding the pot with too many ingredients at once, which can cause the broth to lose its flavor or cook unevenly. It's important to cook in small batches, allowing the ingredients to maintain their natural taste and texture. Another mistake is not skimming the broth regularly. As ingredients cook, impurities or fat may float to the surface, which should be skimmed off to keep the broth clear and flavorful. Finally, underestimating cooking times can lead to undercooked meat or vegetables, so always check the doneness of your food before taking it out.
