The stay in Koh Rong was a real moment of relaxation before concluding our trip in Phnom Penh, a dynamic city with a poignant past.

As for the weather in Cambodia in 15 days, we decided to go to Cambodia in February. In February, the weather in Cambodia was ideal for traveling: hot and sunny, without rain. The days were pleasant, especially at the beach, although some visits in full sun, especially at Angkor, were trying. The heat was more pronounced in Phnom Penh, but overall, we enjoyed the dry and bright weather, perfect for exploring the country without being bothered by humidity or monsoons.

2. Day 6-7: Battambang

We left Siem Reap early in the morning to reach Battambang, with a fascinating stop in a floating village during our itinerary in Cambodia in 15 days. Embarking on a small boat, we discovered a way of life completely different from ours: houses, schools and even a pagoda, everything floated on the water! The inhabitants, smiling and welcoming, told us about their daily life punctuated by fishing and crocodile breeding. Our sons were intrigued by these immense reptiles, while we were impressed by the simplicity and ingenuity of this way of life. Lunch on board the boat, with a view of this unique way of life, was a highlight, even if the heat and humidity made the air a little heavy. After this interlude on the water, we took the road back to Battambang, tired but delighted with this discovery.

3. Day 8: Sihanoukville and Kep

We left Siem Reap early in the morning to fly to Sihanoukville. The flight was quick and uneventful, and we were eager to discover the Cambodian coast. Upon landing, however, Sihanoukville did not really charm us. Between the large construction sites, the chaotic traffic and the less preserved beaches than hoped, we had the impression of being in a city in full transformation rather than a peaceful seaside resort. Fortunately, our transfer to Kep went smoothly, and we quickly left the hustle and bustle of Sihanoukville behind us.

Arriving in Kep, we immediately felt a calmer and more authentic atmosphere. After the hustle and bustle of the trip, we enjoyed our free afternoon in our Cambodia itinerary 15 days to relax. While the boys enjoyed the pool, we took the time to walk around this small town with its old-fashioned charm, once popular with French colonists. The sea air and the gentle way of life made us forget the heat of the day, and we savored this moment of respite before the rest of our 15 days in Cambodia.

4. Day 9: Kampot

During 15 days in Cambodia, we spent a fascinating day in Kampot, a charming town that we explored by tuk-tuk with our local guide. From the morning, we crossed a magnificent countryside, alternating between pepper plantations and salt marshes, with rice fields and mountains as a backdrop. We particularly enjoyed visiting a pepper farm: we discovered the entire process of growing and drying this world-famous spice. The boys loved tasting different varieties and comparing their flavors. Passing through a fishing village was also a highlight, with its colorful boats and welcoming inhabitants.

In the afternoon, we strolled along the seaside, admiring the old colonial and modern houses. The boys preferred to relax by the hotel pool while we enjoyed the calm of this seaside resort with a prestigious past. A beautiful day, full of discoveries, despite a few slightly dusty passages on the roads!

5. Day 10: Relaxation in Kep

We loved our day in Kep on this family itinerary 15 days Cambodia, a welcome break after several days of travel. In the morning, we started with the crab market, an experience that was both lively and authentic. Seeing the fishermen pull their traps directly from the sea before selling their still-wriggling catch was fascinating. The salty smell and the scent of spices immediately put us in the mood. We tasted a Kampot pepper crab that was absolutely delicious, although the price was a little higher than expected for a local market.

In the afternoon, we decided to explore Koh Tonsay (which means rabbit island in English). After a short boat ride, we discovered a small, quiet island with wild beaches. The water was clear, ideal for swimming, and the hammocks under the coconut trees invite you to relax. Our sons, a little more impatient, would have liked more entertainment, but for us, this natural setting was perfect for unwinding. The only downside: some trash on some parts of the beach, which disappointed us a little.

6. Day 11-13: Koh Rong

We reached Koh Rong after a long transfer from Sihanoukville, but once there, the effort was worth it. The speedboat was a bit buffeted by the waves, but arriving on this paradise island immediately made us forget the fatigue of the journey in Cambodia in 15 days. Our wooden bungalow, nestled under the coconut trees, offered direct access to a magnificent white sand beach. We loved the calm of the place, far from the noise and hustle and bustle, even if the electricity was only available intermittently, which surprised us a little at first.

The warm turquoise water was perfect for swimming, and our sons spent hours exploring the coral reefs with their masks and snorkels. During this time, we enjoyed the sun, a good book and the delicious grilled fish served in the beach restaurants. The treetop adventure was also a great time: the zip lines over the jungle gave us a good dose of adrenaline! The only downside was that the mosquitoes were terrible at the end of the day, and the hiking trails in the jungle were more demanding than expected.

We left the island with a little pang in our hearts. Koh Rong is an idyllic destination to completely disconnect, and despite a few minor inconveniences, we loved this timeless break in our Cambodia itinerary 15 days. Our sons particularly liked the wild and adventurous side of the stay, and we, the unspoiled beauty of the landscape.

7. Day 14-15: Phnom Penh

We spent the last two days of our family itinerary 15 days Cambodia in Phnom Penh, a city combining modernity and old-world charm. We visited the Royal Palace and the National Museum, which were captivating although our 16-year-old sons found the visit a bit long. A tuk-tuk ride immersed us in the local atmosphere, between bustling traffic, street markets and street vendors.
