II. Detailed itinerary of my 2-day Da Nang trip

1. Day 1: Arrival in Da Nang – Marble Mountains – Non Nuoc Village – Linh Ung Pagoda – My Khe Beach – Dragon Bridge

Early in the morning, I left Ho Chi Minh City for a domestic flight to Da Nang. The flight lasted about 1 hour and 20 minutes, offering stunning aerial views of Vietnam's central coastline. Upon arrival at Da Nang airport, a driver from AUTOUR ASIA was waiting for me with a smile to start the adventure.

During my 2 days in Da Nang, our first stop was the marble mountains (Ngu Hanh Son), a group of five marble and limestone hills. This complex of five limestone hills represents the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. In my 2-day Da Nang itinerary, I chose to climb the water mountain, the largest and most visited. The climb, though a bit steep at times, was well worth the effort. I then continued to a huge cave called Huyen Khong, bathed in a supernatural light filtered through openings in the rock. A highlight, full of energy and emotion.

Right next door, we explored Non Nuoc Village, one of Vietnam's craft villages, renowned for its stone carving craft. The artisans, with precise and passionate gestures, sculpted marble to create religious and decorative works. A fascinating immersion into a traditional craft passed down through generations.

What to do in Da Nang? Around noon, I stopped for lunch at a small local restaurant recommended by the hotel. The menu featured Mi Quang, a regional noodle specialty, fragrant and colorful. A real treat. For my 2-day Da Nang trip, in the late morning, we headed to the Linh Ung Pagoda, perched on the Son Tra Peninsula. This Buddhist sanctuary is famous for its gigantic statue of the Goddess of Mercy, standing 67 meters tall, with her protective gaze turned towards the sea. The peaceful atmosphere and panoramic view of Da Nang and the ocean were breathtaking.

Continuing my 2-day Da Nang itinerary, in the afternoon, we then headed to My Khe Beach, one of the best beaches in Da Nang, often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Asia. Its fine white sand, turquoise water, and gentle sea breeze offered me a well-deserved moment of relaxation. I settled under the shade of an umbrella, coconut juice in hand, to enjoy the sea and the tranquility.

What to do in Da Nang in 2 days? As night fell, I headed to the Dragon Bridge, the symbol of Da Nang. Every weekend, this bridge comes alive: at 9 p.m, the giant dragon spits fire and water in a festive atmosphere. It was both spectacular and fun, with families, couples, and tourists, all eyes on this unique performance.

This first day of the 2-day Da Nang itinerary ended with a peaceful walk along the Han River, where the city's lights gently reflect on the water. A perfect start to the stay, blending nature, culture, and modernity.

2. Day 2: Discovering Ba Na Hills – Han Market. END OF TRIP

For my second day in Da Nang, the journey was even richer in discoveries. After a good breakfast at the hotel, I headed to one of the region's most famous attractions: Ba Na Hills.

The drive to the cable car station for the 2-day Da Nang trip was pleasant, winding through lush nature. Once there, I boarded the longest cable car in the world, according to the Guinness World Records! The journey to the top offered an incredible view of the tropical forest, misty hills, and valleys below – truly a magical moment.

What to do in Ba Na Hills? Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nearly fairy-tale atmosphere. Between the cool mountain air, the famous Golden Bridge supported by two giant hands, and the perfectly maintained flower gardens, I felt like I was in another world. I also visited the French village with its small alleys, church, and European-style restaurants – a charming contrast to the Vietnamese atmosphere from the previous day.

For my 2-day Da Nang trip, in the afternoon, I explored Han Market, a very lively place where locals shop. I tasted some of Da Nang specialties, like spring rolls and crispy rice cakes. I also bought a few Da Nang souvenirs: handicrafts, Vietnamese coffee, and spices.

To wrap up this second day of the 2-day Da Nang itinerary, I embarked on a sunset cruise on the Han River. The city gradually lit up, and you could admire the illuminated bridges, modern buildings, and mountains in the distance. A peaceful, romantic moment, and a perfect farewell to this charming city.

• From September to January: a more humid period, with occasional sudden rain and gray days, especially in October and November.

• Light clothing, in cotton or linen, to withstand the heat and humidity.

• A cap or hat for daytime visits.

• A light jacket for the evening or air-conditioned places.

• Comfortable shoes for walking (the stairs at the Marble Mountains can be slippery).

• If you plan to visit temples or pagodas: long pants or a covering skirt, and covered shoulders – it's a sign of respect.

3. Cultural notes

The Vietnamese are welcoming, smiling, and very respectful – and they appreciate the same in return.

• Take off your shoes when entering a house or temple.

• Avoid affectionate gestures in public (holding hands is fine, but kissing is not).

• A smile is often enough to create a good rapport.

• At markets, it's common to negotiate gently – always with a smile!

• Learning a few words in Vietnamese like xin chào (hello) or cảm ơn (thank you) is always appreciated.
