Nearby, Wat Pho Temple houses an immense reclining Buddha, while across the river, Wat Arun Temple boasts steep steps and a Khmer-style spire.
The city's abbreviated name, Krung Thep, is often translated as the "City of Angels." Originally, Bangkok's transportation system relied on water travel, earning it the moniker "Venice of the East." However, the introduction of automobiles led to significant changes.
Bangkok's cultural heart lies in its wats, with over 300 temples showcasing classic Thai architecture, many enclosed by walls. This Trip to Bangkok itinerary 3 days 2 nights will take you to visit some of the most famous temples among them.
